Meet the Veterinarians

Dr. Michael Weigand
Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Michael Weigand attended Kansas State University where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1982. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Weigand was admitted to Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.
 
After practicing veterinary medicine at Alosta Animal Hospital in Glendora, CA. for eight years, Dr. Weigand opened the doors to Terra Vista Animal Hospital in 1994. Over the years, the positive feedback and expressions of satisfaction which Dr. Weigand and his staff have received from their clients has made their work all the more rewarding and worthwhile.
 
Dr. Weigand is a member of the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce, the California Veterinary Medical Association and serves as the Secretary on the Board of the Inland Valley Emergency Pet Clinic in Upland. In his leisure time he enjoys playing golf, exercising and snow skiing.
 
Dr. Weigand, his wife Liz and their two daughters, Madison and Brooke, share their home with their schnauzer, Riley, and a desert tortoise, Ord.
Dr. Walt Cailleteau
Associate veterinarian at Terra Vista Animal Hospital since 2000, Dr. Walter Cailleteau attended Alvin Community College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1987. After completing his studies at Alvin Community College, he was admitted to Texas A & M University and the University of Houston. In 1991, he received a BS Degree in Veterinary Science, and in 1992, a BS Degree in Biology. Dr. Cailleteau also held an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Centers of America West Los Angeles Animal Hospital in 1994-1995.

During his four years at Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Cailleteau received awards for his academic performance. In 1994, he was inducted into Phi Zeta, the Veterinary Honor Society.

Active with the Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles, Dr. Cailleteau enjoys spending leisure time with his dog named Sierra. Other activities that he enjoys include kung fu, jogging, motorcycling and snowboarding.
Dr. Liz Bernardini
Dr. Liz Bernardini joined the staff of Terra Vista Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in March 2011. Born and raised in rural Wisconsin, Dr. Bernardini attended Northwestern University in Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology in 1988. She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in Archeology from Arizona State University before attending the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She is also a Diplomat of The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
 
In her leisure time, Dr. Bernardini enjoys running, yoga, ice hockey and playing the piano. She also volunteers as a literacy and math tutor in her hometown of Redlands.
