APRIL

Born and raised in Cape May, NJ, April has been a receptionist and technician at Terra Vista sine February, 2003.  With eleven years in the animal care field, she has worked at veterinary hospitals in NJ and brought that experience to this hospital.

Having received her Science Degree from Atlantic Cape Community College in NJ, April has been involved in many facets of the veterinary profession including working at a 24 hour emergency hospital, grooming facility, and animal shelter.  She is also certified as an equine and canine sports massage therapist and an animal behavior consultant.

April is a member of the American Paint Horse Association and has received multiple awards and scholarships for showing. Along with horseback riding April and her husband Taylor enjoy 4-wheeling, boating and Chargers football. Together they own and operate multiple tanning salons and a motocross parts store.  They have a daughter, Lola, who was born on Christmas Eve 2005.  Their pets include 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks named Jack and River.

MAGGIE

Maggie is a full-time registered veterinary technician who has been with Terra Vista Animal Hospital since January 2006.  She brings 20 years of experience in the veterinary profession with her.

Maggie is originally from New York but raised in nearby Whittier, California.  During the early 1990’s, Maggie received her Associates Degree in animal science from Mt. San Antonio College where she was on the Dean’s list.  She is also certified in dentistry from the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians.

With her husband John, a RN and clinical supervisor, Maggie has two children, Shane and Sarah.  They also enjoy the company of their two dogs, Peaches and Cookie, and two cats, William and Oliver.  When not working, she can be found playing tennis or golf, going deep sea fishing and spending time with friends and family.  She is also a member of the SPCA and Wildlife Defenders organizations and speaks to school groups about careers in the animal health industry.

DAMARIS

Damaris has been a veterinary technician assistant with Terra Vista since August 2007. She is currently attending Riverside Community College where she is working towards becoming a Registered Nurse. Her love for animals is what attracted her to the animal related field. In her free time, Damaris enjoys playing pool, writing, reading, playing music, going to the beach and doing anything outdoors. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her three cats, Yuki, Moose and Baby.

ELISE

Born and raised in Redlands, Elise has been employed at Terra Vista Animal Hospital since March 2008. A graduate of Riverside Community College, she is a licensed cosmetologist. Her love and compassion for animals is what made her interested in becoming a veterinary technician. Elise loves being outdoors whether she is hiking with her dog Nala or rock climbing and camping with her friends. She also enjoys going to movies, the beach, exploring new places and even just curling up with a good book.

ALVARO

Alvaro has been working as a veterinary technician at Terra Vista Animal Hospital since September 2007.  He moved to the area  from Las Vegas, Nevada where he gained most of his experience.

A native of Santiago, Chile, Alvaro is a fluent Spanish speaker and enjoys literature, soccer, snowboarding and drumming in many styles (double bass and jazz are two favorites).  At home Alvaro takes care of Gypsy, a 3 year old female cat.  His future plans are to continue his vet tech education, bartending and general self improvement.
